So, your Personal Branding session is scheduled. Now what?
I’m going to share exactly what we do with all clients who come to La Perla Boudoir to ELEVATE their social media presence and become ultimate SOCIAL MEDIA BUTTERFLIES.
Let’s go over the basics of looking amazing in photos for your social media profiles.
We'll cover tips on choosing wardrobe, location and a few ideas how to make your images stand out.
WARDROBE
First question that comes to mind is “What to wear?”
Think of a message that you want to convey.
Professional? Creative? Fun?
Here are some ideas for a Wardrobe for a Personal Branding Photosession:
~ MAKE IT TIMELESS: I always suggest to start with solid neutral colors like white, navy, black, and grey.
~ ACCESSORIZE: Accessories such as watches, scarves, jewelry, sunglasses, or hats that match the overall color palette of the outfit and reflect your style.
~ GET MULTIPLE LOOKS: Clothing pieces that can be layered like jackets, blazers and cardigans to create multiple different looks in one session.
~ GO WILD: Clothing items that express your personality such as bright colors or bold prints to make sure you stand out from the crowd.
~ BEACHY: works almost every time!
~ MAKE IT FESTIVE: If you are planning on using your images from the personal branding session around the holidays think ahead and prepare a few closing items to honor the season (even if it means wearing Santa hat in July).
LOCATION! LOCATION? LOCATION..
Can you guess what are the most requested local areas for Personal Branding and Lifestyle photoshoots?
Seaside, Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach and all the beautiful small towns in between.
They are trendy with cool relaxed beachy vibe. We love 30a and we want it in our photos because it FEELS good!
It’s easy to make things look pretty in gorgeous places (like 30a) but location is not a deal breaker.
There are so many ways to create great content and stunning images almost anywhere.
Some of my favorite places besides 30a:
~ local coffee shops (and I’m not talking Starbucks!) - the Pour, the Press, SoLa, Amavida, Cafe Del Mundo to name a few
~ beach or bay (anywhere away from hotels)
~ historic St.Andrews and downtown Panama City
and many more!
MAKE IT SPECIAL
ADD PROPS!
Props can be used to add character, tell a story, create an atmosphere, and set the mood of an image.
Props can range from common everyday objects such as books, flowers, coffee cups and laptops to more elaborate props such as pets and cars, or even job or business related items.
THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!!
The more UNIQUE your props are the more attention your photographs will attract which ultimately will have a positive effect on your social media presence as well as traffic to your profiles and help you GROW your following!
Taking photos (especially PORTRAITS!) for social media content can be a daunting and time consuming task, but it doesn't have to be when you keep in mind your goal and trust your photographer!
