There are many myths about boudoir photography and today we’re going to debunk the most common ones!
Myth #1
I’m too Shy to do it
For the most part of my adult life I’ve been telling myself that I’m too shy to do certain things. I’ve been limiting myself because I thought I needed to be more outgoing and brave. I missed out on lots of cool experiences because I thought I was destined to be the “shy girl” that “couldn’t” do the things. I was wrong!
I hear this “I’m shy” phrase so often and almost of my “shy” ladies admit that this experience has been life changing in a way. I’ve photographed hundreds of women and majority of them were nervous when they first arrived for their session! But, once the hair and makeup is done, it awakens something inside them, it’s like a magical switch that turns on the fire. I’ve had a very religious lady who totally surprised me! She walked in shy, but walked out looking and feeling like a supermodel. She got very emotional when she saw her pictures, she finally embraced her feminine passionate side, allowed herself to enjoy the experience and found confidence and love for herself. Another one of my shy clients came in thinking she’d never look as sensual as other women on our website and later after seeing her images she admitted that it was the most liberating experience that she’s had and the best confidence booster!
Myth #2
Lingerie is the only option
The truth is you don’t even have to wear lingerie during your photoshoot.
Your boudoir shoot is all about YOU and what YOU LOVE!
It’s totally ok to bring other pieces of clothing such as favorite dress, partner’s shirt/uniform, your team’s jersey, crop top, tank, t-shirt, denim shorts/jeans plus cute top, sweater, blazer, coat, robe, etc.
Another idea: wear NOTHING!
We can use sheets and fabrics for creative draping if you’d like some coverage.
MYTH #3
It’s not for me because I am PLUS size!
I photograph more women who are size XL-6XL than any other size!
We will help you to select the best outfits and pose you in the most flattering way.
I promise no matter what your shape or size is, you will have so much fun and you’ll love your images!
Myth #4
I will be judged for it
When it comes to something so incredibly personal, it’s absolutely normal to feel vulnerable. It is not for anyone but YOU decide what makes you feel like a GODDESS.
Our studio is a judgement-free zone, we love to celebrate women the way they are and add a little magic to it!
Your session will be tailored to your vision (spicy, mild or in-between).
We’ll help you to bring your ideas to life and guide you along the way.
Besides, nobody will see these photographs unless you choose to share them.
They can be your little secret!
Myth #5
I have a hard time spending money on myself
Isn’t it true that we’d pay almost anything for something that our significant other (or another important person in our life) wants or needs? It’s like we’re almost instantly more generous with them.
Sounds familiar?
Turns out, there are some beliefs or blocks that cause a certain feeling of shame or guilt when we purchase something nice for ourselves. It can be certain categories of products or services, or just a certain price range, or timeframe. Some women feel guilty for doing something nice for themselves because they feel like they take away from their family, or they feel like they need a REALLY BIG reason to splurge. Or they feel like they’ll be judged for it. Ultimately, they feel like they don’t deserve having those services or goods.
The question is WHY do they feel this way?
Who decides what they should have or do and how much they should spend on it?
A lot of these limiting beliefs come from our childhood and feeling not good enough. It almost feels like they need a permission or approval to do something that they *really* want.
If that’s you, please, know that you ARE GOOD ENOUGH right now and you absolutely deserve whatever you desire!
Are you ready to surprise yourself and do something that will make you look and feel like a real life supermodel?
Let’s make it happen!
